1969 Zodiac Posters

Inspired by the colourful 1970's 'Virgo' Zodiac poster on Sue's bedroom wall on the new Australian TV series 'Puberty Blues', I went searching for 60's & 70's Zodiac posters online and found these fabulous posters by Simboli Design.

Simboli Design were commissioned by Poster Prints in 1969 to create a line of very graphically strong and colorful zodiac posters, which were were sold worldwide.

You can see more work from Simboli Design on their website, or you can also check out their Etsy store where prints of the posters are available in various sizes. (Shipping only available to USA - bugger!).

 

 

 

 

Big M - TV Ads

Big M flavoured milk was established in Melton, Victoria 1978.

The brand has gained popularity through the years with television ad campaigns,
with some of the ads featuring music by great Australian bands.

Arthur 1981

Great early 80's film that was a favourite on the old VCR in my household growing up. 

Taped off the TV of course - and may have even had the odd ad break taken out here and there. (Remember forgetting to take it off pause again when the ads were over, and realising you've missed recording a whole section of the movie? Disaster.)

Freaky Friday - Medieval Special

In honour of one of my fave new TV shows Game of Thrones,

I give you a Freaky Friday with a Medieval theme...

Eden Ahbez - a little ray of sunshine as he skips along on his Enchanted Isle.

When they aren't playing spectacular symphonic sounds,

The Incomparable Robin Hood Band are robbing the rich to give to the poor.

The King likes his suits red, and his pants tight.

Metal Rock offerings from the Medieval Abattoir.

The smaller dude is Billy Joel - pre 'Piano Man' Billy Joel.

A little more Dances with Wolves than Medieval, but I dig his beard so he made the cut.

Retro Metro Houseboat

Quick update - Tracy Metro herself popped in to say hello in the comments : ) !

To say I am excited about this post is an understatement!

The 'Retro Metro' Houseboat belongs to US Designer & TV Presenter Tracy Metro & Marty Metro.
I instantly fell in love with the boat when I found it online.

The retro design and decor is fantastic, and Tracy has made incredible use of such limited space.
Almost everything used to furnish the boat was thrifted, secondhand, or a vintage eBay find.
Such a fun, colourful, amazingly cool houseboat - the ultimate retro weekend getaway!
