New Retro Wares

A couple of my most recent purchases...

Two retro outdoor chairs from The Man
I was really excited to find these two chairs. I love the colours
on the strapping.

And this retro beach umbrella, in top notch condition from eBay.
Yellow, orange and brown florals - sold!

I have been VERY quiet on the thrifting front of late,
so I need to lift my game and start seeking treasures again.
I feel a day of thrifting down on the sunny Mornington Peninsula is on the cards!

Retro Lake House

I could barely breath when I first saw this awesome Retro Lake House!

Not only because of the house itself, but also the amazing retro furniture,
beautiful gardens and the stunning location.

The lake house was built in 1957 and is located in Guatemala,
Central America in the town of Solola Atitlan.

The picturesque lake is Lake Atitlan.
It is surrounded by four volcanoes & 20 small towns of the Mayan culture.

The amazing retro furniture belonged to the owners aunt
from the era the house was built in.

You can head over to Thania's Flickr account here
for more retro goodness (including tonnes of lovely Retro Pyrex!).

Many thanks to Thania for the above information & for allowing me to share these photos of her amazing Retro Lake House at beautiful Lake Atitlan.

Enjoy!

Retro Ball Chair

This fabulous Ball Chair belongs to my lovely friend Hayley.
Top chick and pretty decent ping pong player too!

The chair was an eBay purchase 5 years ago - what a find!
Hayley has a house full of retro and vintage goodness,
so I feel a full house tour may be on the cards very soon.

Love the colours in this photo.
Great pic Hayley : )

Vintage Lounge

I purchased this vintage lounge at the beginning of the year.
I loved the floral print, and dark wood arms, but alas,
I could never really make it work in my house.

I no longer have room to store it - so before I turn into one of those Hoarder's who wonders where her pets are disappearing too, (anyone remember the Augustine episode? Truly the stuff of nightmares),
this beautiful, clean, vintage piece is headed for ebay.

Featherston Mitzi Aristoc chairs

I am very excited about recently acquiring these four
Featherston "Mitzi" aristoc dining chairs for a great price.

They are in relatively good condition, so I'll probably just touch up the legs.
I'm going to pair them with a round dining table as we don't have alot of room to play with in our dining area.

As far as what dining table to pair them with, I'm still undecided as to
whether to go for a white laminate table such as this...

Or a hardwood timber table...
(which is also extendable & therefore super handy)

 Thoughts? Anyone?
Bueller...? Bueller...?

Sterin

My friend Emma's fantastic retro chair
on her back deck. Perfect to curl up
on with a mag!

And my very own comfy chair on the deck!
Cushion covers were made by my sister
from $3 thrifted fabric.

My outdoor setting at the other end of the deck.
Purchased from the man for $25!

Retro Bedhead

My latest ebay purchase is this 70's stylin' funky bedhead. I had a 'I MUST HAVE THAT!' moment when I first saw it, and now thankfully, it is mine.
The cushions fold down to reveal a decent sized shelf for stashing our things in, eliminating the need for bedside tables, which is fantastic as we have quite a small master bedroom. The task will now be to do it justice in our room - new print above the bed, new bed spread, light fitting = more ebay hunting. Hooray!!
