Retro Metro Houseboat

Quick update - Tracy Metro herself popped in to say hello in the comments : ) !

To say I am excited about this post is an understatement!
The 'Retro Metro' Houseboat belongs to US Designer & TV Presenter Tracy Metro & Marty Metro.
I instantly fell in love with the boat when I found it online.
The retro design and decor is fantastic, and Tracy has made incredible use of such limited space.
Almost everything used to furnish the boat was thrifted, secondhand, or a vintage eBay find.
Such a fun, colourful, amazingly cool houseboat - the ultimate retro weekend getaway!

These fantastic photographs of the 'Retro Metro' were taken by Marcia Prentice.
Marcia is an Interior Designer and Design Curator, and regular blogger and contributor for top design site Apartment Therapy. For more information on the 'Retro Metro', & to read Marcia's full article on the

Big shout out & many thanks to Marcia Prentice for allowing me to share some her wonderful photographs of the 'Retro Metro' here : )

I also found this great YouTube clip featuring Tracy Metro on the 'Retro Metro' for SpacesTV.
I love Tracy - ("It's retro baby!") and her reference to Mork & Mindy.

  6. What a fantastic houseboat! I want one....need one. It was just the small touches that added to it. The cookie jar and the macrame. The deck is where you would find me, with a tequila sunrise and a bowl of pretzels! Thanks Donna
