Blog Link In Day - Retro & Vintage Inspired Corner of My Home

The day has arrived!

Kylie of Lucy Violet Vintage and I put out the call 2 weeks ago to see if people might be willing to share snapshot of their favourite Retro & Vintage Inspired Corner of their Home.

If you would like to share your link, please see the bottom of this post to add your image and blog link. Then please head over to Kylie's blog at Lucy Violet Vintage to add your link there as well (things work better in pairs...Twix Chocolate bars, Laverne & Shirley, Bert & Ernie...),
and/or check out the photographs that may have been submitted to Kylie.

I can't wait to pop over and check them out!!

So let's kick it off with my favourite corner of my home.

Donna (Me!), (2 Photos)

Couch from the Op Shop. I had my eye on it there for weeks and finally bought it for $100.
Love the colours, and the sleigh wooden legs (thanks for that tip off Pippa!)
Lamp from the Man, little owl a gift from Pippa, and cushion cover a gift from Kylie.

This is where you will find me most nights - either blogging, gabbing on the phone, or watching my fave shows like Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, True Blood, Southland & quality weekly TV like Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (I'm serious). The only thing missing from this picture is a cup of tea and some Mint Slice Chocolate biscuits.

Jenny & Mia, Vic (3 Photos)

Retro Buffet/Sideboard in our outdoor room off the kitchen.
Orange Ice Bucket was one of my mum and dads wedding presents, replica Bush retro radio,
thin green vase was also mums, and the rest are thrifted pieces collected over the years.

And an addition pic from my daughter Mia.
This is a retro chair we bought at the Vintage Shed in Tyabb now
being used as her desk chair. (Best pic I could get in a messy room!)
Note the 80's inspired sunnies on the desk. : )

Terri, Vic (2 Photos)

Dancer Print was from 'the man' & the step bookcase was off the side of the road!
Green couch in second picture a purchase from Camberwell markets
and the floral cushions were a thrifted gift from a friend.

Bec, Vic (2 Photos)

We recently purchased a permanent site holiday caravan.
It's been great to deck it out with retro wares.
These pics are taken in the permanent annex attached to the van.
The sideboard pictured was from family in Tasmania, Radio and Clock from the man
(both in working order), Cake Tins & Willow from a store in Richmond, & rest of the
bits and pieces thrifted from here and there.

Linda, Qld (1 Photo)

This is my favourite place to sit to take in the rays of sunlight with a good book.
Chair and lamp were my grandparents, thrifted cane magazine holder
and rugs hand made by mum.

Stacey, Vic

Thrifted bits and pieces in my kitchen. The red kitchen chair was side of the road pick up (I got 2!), scales rolling pin and old Schweppes bottles from 'the man' and the large metal wall hanging from the Vintage Shed in Tyabb. It weighs a tonne!

Stacey, Photo 1

Wow!! Tonnes of submitted photograph entries which is awesome.
Thank you so much for taking the time to submit them.
Hope you have as much fun looking through them all as I did!

Please check back for updates as we may get some extras to post up in the next day or so.

Don't forget to head on over to Kylie to see the link and photo submissions over there!

    1. Hi Simmone, Thanks so much for popping in! It's nice to own something with a story or sentimental value attached to it. I have this dilemma with some tea cups I have that were my nans. Do I use them (but run the risk of dropping them as I am a klutz!) or keep them safely away in the cupboard? I decided a sideboard with a glass cabinet was the answer so I can at least admire them while they are being kept safe from my butter fingers.

    1. Thanks so much for joining Tam! So great to have you link up.
The couch is very 'loud' as someone visiting once described it. That made me laugh out loud - and they were right. It's very bright and definitely not everyone's cup of tea. But I do love it and the velour is lovely. x

    1. Hi Allison! Thanks so much for adding your link - loved having a tour of your home & treasures! Terri's print is beauty. She sure scored a winner there. You can't beat a Mint Slice - sometimes I make a cup of tea just so I can dunk a few mint slices. I don't want to live in a world where you can't dunk biscuits.
Thanks again for linking in. : )

  15. Hi Donna (actually I'm calling you the Donnstar from now on!)
I'm back (obviously!) I love your couch, the stripey velour and the legs, and I'd completely forgotten about that Mini cushion - it was nice to see it again.

Hi Jenny, I wish I had an outdoor kitchen like you, and I love the corrie (the back part of our house is clad in it too)

Hi Terri, like everyone else I'm crazy about 'The Dancers' too. Who is "the man"? and where do I find him?

Hi Bec, "the man" again eh, is he actually called that, or is that just what you girls call him? How fun to have a caravan to deck out. I love your old radio and the Willow vegie storage thingy.

Hi Linda, I love your Mum's 'grannies'. What a cosy retro/vintage corner!

Hi Stacey, love all that red loveliness, especially the chair and Hangar sign. I've got the same scales as you too btw.

This is prob the longest commment ever, sorry Donnstar, but I loved checking out your friends 'corners' and I wanted to thank them for joining in...thanks girls x

    1. The girls will be ro rapt with your comments Kylie - thank you.
'The Man' is what we call the guy who sells vintage/retro out of a local warehouse. I should link over to his page as I did a post on him many moons ago - I'll do that in the morning. Really reasonably priced pieces, prints etc which is so great.
Terri will wake up one morning and find her beautiful dancer print gone. List of suspects above.
This has been an awesome link in Kylie! So excited and grateful that people took the time to join in and submit a pic or link.
I'll be clicking back on the links for the rest of the week I think re visiting these gorgeous homes. xx : )
