Freaky Friday - Danny & Armi's Back Up Dancers

When classic choreography meets dancers of this calibre, the results are truly electric.

Apparently this clip went viral in 2006. Can't believe it's taken me this long to discover it!
Shame it's such poor quality, but it's worth it.

Catchy tune too - been singing it all week.

Happy Friday!

C-3PO, The Checkout Girl and Me

(That's me on the left - except I was wearing a STAR WARS T shirt...)

I recently wore this T Shirt out to the shops to grab a few things.
At the check out as I was paying, the young girl said to me "Oh, who's on your T Shirt?"
She leaned in for a closer look and said "Oh, The Wizard of Oz!"

I looked down at the front of my T Shirt to make sure I hadn't just crossed
over into an Alternate Universe and changed my T Shirt in the process.

"Errr,'s STAR WARS." I replied incredulously.

This was greeted with a blank look. "But it has the Tin Man on it?!" she said.

The TIN MAN???!!

I shifted my feet while I gathered my thoughts to politely reply "No, that's C3-PO...
from the movie STAR WARS....".

There wasn't an ounce of recognition in her eyes.
I smiled, thanked her and swiftly gathered my bags to exit the store.

What I should have said is...

"I find your lack of faith disturbing.
That's C-3PO man! A protocol droid, fluent in six million forms of communication including the binary language of moisture vaporators and Bocce. He and his counterpart R2-D2 were involved in many missions and adventures with the Rebellion against the Evil Empire in one of the greatest movie franchises of ALL TIME!! You have much to learn young Padawan".

Then backed out of the store doing light saber sounds & moves with a rolled up newspaper.

The Tin Man???!!!

Freaky Friday - Zeljko

Few men can carry Freaky Friday on their own.
Zeljko was just the man for the job.

I've seen some Camel Toes in my time, but this is just outrageous.

Happy Friday!

Freaky Friday - Vintage Ad's Part 1

A selection of Vintage Ads that took my fancy and messed with my mind abit this week...

"Darling, please don't lean over me. You know
I hate it when you watch me inflate my Sauna Pants!"

 "Wiener Judy?"

A dude to a stud in one easy step.

 The original exercise bike.

Whats up Buttercup? Burnt Orange pants too tight?

"Damn her and her farm fresh breath!"

 Again with the Sauna Pants!

Wait, What?!

How do we feel about these Kaftan's?
I'm thinking no. No, no, no, no, NO!

And then there is the Raschel Knit "Shirt Suit"...

Happy Friday!

Freaky Friday - From Russia with Love

Some Retro Album Cover fare from Russia and other wonderful parts of the globe...

You can leave your hat on.

Running the fingers through the mullet.

Miso - showing just enough chest hair to keep me interested.

The lion doesn't sleep when Nada's on the prowl.

Dusko - Professor of the precision mullet

Klik Klak - Translation: Underarm Hair.

Saban - Poster boy for dental care.

When jumpsuits aren't available, I like my men in pale blue flowing sleeved
outfits, with white fringe trim on the neckline, and a mullet and a mo to go!

Before I go and shave my armpits inspired by Svetlana, I'd like to throw a shout out
to Kylie over at Lucy Violet Vintage. Kylie is hosting 'Frocktober' over on her blog,
raising funds for a great cause.

Happy Friday! : )

1970's College Years - Photography by Ed Uthman

I love these cool photographs by Ed Uthman, taken during his college years
in the early 1970's at Rhodes College, Memphis, Tennessee.

It was hard to select only a few from Ed's great photographs in this set
on Flickr (link on Ed's name above). Hope you enjoy the shots I've gone with.

Many thanks to Ed for allowing me to share his work here today. : )

Yes Music in the Amphitheater, 1970
"This was one of the first photos I shot on campus, and it remains my favorite. I have a poster print of it hanging on the wall at home. In 2010, this photo was used in the onstage video that accompanied the performance of the song "Jazz Man" by Carole King in her "Troubadour Reunion" tour with James Taylor. Even though the photo was in the Creative Commons, the production team courteously asked me for permission to use it, which of course I enthusiastically agreed to."
