Suzi Quatro - LAX Airport 1974

More great 1970's photography from Nick DeWolf.
These photographs capture the Suzi Quatro fan club ready to greet Suzi and her band
at LAX Airport in 1974 (from the set titled reel #56 - California 1974 on Flickr here).

I am a huge fan of Nick DeWolf's photographs - particularly his work in the 1970's.
I love how well he captured everyday people, and I never tire of viewing his beautiful images.

Many thanks to Steve Lundeen, who is archiving Nick's work on Flickr,
and to Maggie De Wolf for allowing me to share more of Nick's fantastic photographs here.

  1. It is really funny how much the 70's have come back in style. If it wasn't for some of the hair, honestly, how would you know this is from 40 years ago? The top picture for example, I had to pause. Did not look like 1974. Great share.

    1. Yes - lovin' the flares. No fear of me ever slipping into a boob tube again though. : )

    2. Tube tops. Ugh. I did own them. Not that I had anything to hold them up.

  3. OMG...bell bottoms and tube tops. Guilty as charged. I was 26 in 1974, and you would have found me...hair parted in the center...dressed exactly that way.

  4. Wow - so great to see that Suzi Q had a following in L.A. She was huge in Australia, England and Europe. Those dudes would have been ahead of their time being Suzi followers in her home country of the USA.

    1. Hi Phillip, thanks for popping in! Yes, it's funny how that can happen - an artist finds more commercial success and is embraced by other countries and music markets, rather than in their homeland.
