This is an excerpt of Kurt Russell's audition as Han Solo and William Katt (The Greatest American Hero) as Luke Skywalker.
It's hard to imagine anyone other than Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill in these iconic roles.
And although no one could ever compare to Harrison Ford, I think Kurt Russell does a good job in this and may have made quite a good Han Solo.

Thoughts?
This is an except from Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford auditioning together, reading the same lines as the previous clip.

No linky poo's? But could be my iPad?
ReplyDeleteAny luck now?
DeleteVery interesting comparison. The Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill take was much more low-key, but I agree that Kurt Russell would have been a good second choice.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Harrison reads Han so casual and cool def more low key.
DeleteHarrison Ford has more animation in his voice even though his body language is low key. I think you could interchange Mark Hamill and William Katt, they sounded exactly the same...
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Although, I wasn't fussed on William Katt as Luke. So much hair!!
DeleteHarrison Ford has more "attitude" which is what his character needed. Mark Hamel is better, don't think I could have looked at the other actors hair through the whole movie! Anyway, Harrison does it for me every time!
ReplyDeleteYes, I couldn't have coped with all that hair either on William Katt.x
DeleteThanks for showing this Donna,we've never seen it before.I agree with Jen.
ReplyDeleteSure thing Simmone. Glad you enjoyed.x
